2017 IEM Retreat and Conference - Poster Session - The registration is closed.
Registration for this event is free to the public, and now open. Seating is limited as we did sell out attendance last year. Please register separately for conference attendance and poster submissions:
From mid-afternoon, there will be a poster/networking session highlighting research of IEM and other University faculty and their lab groups. An award of $300 for 1st place, $200 for 2nd place, and $100 for 3rd place will be presented to top student poster presentations in each of the five IEM research themes: Cardiovascular Engineering, Neuroengineering, Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering, Medical and Biological Imaging, or Medical Devices. A second category for post-doc researchers will be made available, with a $300 1st, $200 2nd, and $100 3rd place award for top presentations across themes at the conference. So up to 18 poster awards!
Guidelines for Poster Presentations
The poster dimensions must be no larger than 48 inches by 48 inches. Push pins will be provided to secure the poster onto the poster panel. Posters can be put up on the designated poster panel following lunch during the retreat break-out sessions. The official poster viewing session will occur immediately following the break-out sessions where at least one co-author should present the poster. To participate in the Poster Award Competition, the presenter of the poster must be the first author (non-faculty) and available for the judges during the official poster viewing session.
Poster Award Competition and Guidelines
All non-faculty participants who have been accepted to present a poster at the IEM Conference and Retreat and are listed as the first author will be eligible to participate in the Poster Award Competition. Judges will evaluate the originality, significance, and reliability of the presented work as well as the clarity of the poster presentation. Additional instructions and formatting guidelines will be provided in the email.
